Position Overview: Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing Plant Manager to lead our facility's operations in Delaware. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing, ensuring optimal productivity, quality control, safety standards, and cost-efficiency. As a key member of our leadership team, the Plant Manager will play a crucial role in driving continuous improvement initiatives and fostering a culture of excellence within the organization.
Operational Leadership:
Provide strategic direction and leadership to the manufacturing team, setting clear objectives and priorities to achieve production targets and organizational goals.
Develop and implement operational plans, policies, and procedures to optimize efficiency, minimize downtime, and enhance overall productivity.
Monitor production schedules, resource allocation, and inventory levels to meet customer demand while maintaining cost-effective operations.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure adherence to quality control standards and regulatory requirements throughout the manufacturing process, implementing measures to enhance product quality and consistency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement, implementing best practices and innovative solutions to enhance overall product quality and customer satisfaction.
Safety and Compliance:
Champion a strong safety culture within the plant, promoting awareness, training, and compliance with all relevant safety regulations and procedures.
Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Collaborate with the EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) team to develop and implement safety initiatives and programs aimed at reducing workplace injuries and ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
Team Management and Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of manufacturing professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support employee development initiatives to enhance team effectiveness and individual growth.
Promote employee engagement and morale through effective communication, recognition programs, and opportunities for professional advancement.
Budget Management:
Manage manufacturing budgets and expenditures effectively, identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing resource utilization to maximize profitability.
Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to forecast expenses, track variances, and implement strategies to control costs while maintaining operational excellence.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in a manufacturing leadership role.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality management systems, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage operational performance metrics, budgets, and resources to achieve business objectives.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ERP systems; experience with manufacturing software (e.g., SAP, MRP) is desirable.
Thorough understanding of safety regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices in occupational health and safety.
Proven ability to drive change, foster innovation, and adapt to evolving market dynamics in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
