Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Strategic Sourcing with a strong focus on CAPEX (Capital Expenditure), particularly within the realm of construction services. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing large-scale commercial construction projects ranging from $20 million to $200 million, including renovations and greenfield projects. This role requires exceptional leadership abilities to oversee a team of Strategic Sourcing Managers and Analysts, ensuring efficient and cost-effective procurement processes.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives, with a specific focus on construction services CAPEX.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of Strategic Sourcing Managers and Analysts to drive performance excellence and achieve departmental targets.
Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and contractors, negotiating favorable terms and contracts to optimize value and mitigate risks.
Project Oversight: Oversee the procurement process for large-scale commercial construction projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
Cost Optimization: Continuously identify opportunities for cost savings and value enhancement across all stages of the procurement lifecycle, from sourcing to contract management.
Collaboration: Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders such as project managers, engineers, finance, and legal teams to ensure alignment and synergy in procurement activities.
Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities, including supply chain disruptions, regulatory compliance, and contractual disputes.
Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of sourcing strategies, vendor performance, and overall departmental performance.
Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies in construction services to inform strategic decision-making and maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a focus on CAPEX and construction services.
Proven experience managing large-scale commercial construction projects ranging from $20 million to $200 million, including renovations and greenfield projects.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Deep understanding of procurement best practices, contract management, and vendor relationship management.
Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling.
Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards in the construction industry.
